Paper Hands was started in December of 2013 in Chicago, Illinois by Will Deters. It was initially conceived as a creative outlet and slowly evolved into a serious project. Eventually, after gaining (and losing) a few members, Paper Hands became a real group. In 2014, the band released a BCRF benefit EP and gained Michael Cortright as a permanent bassist. The band released a split single in early 2015 with former member Nic Discepoli, who performs under the name Peter's Jacket. Will and Michael have spent all of 2015 writing brand new songs for their debut album.
